Healing Classes & Workshops

FOCUSED ON Yoga, Ayurveda, Dance, and Meditative Healing

Mosaic Studio Collective opened in June 2017 and welcomes all those interested in exploring the inner terrain of Self. We offer classes, workshops and advanced training in Yoga, Ayurveda, Dance and other contemplative healing methods that allow for self-exploration, personal growth and creative expression. It is our intention to provide a variety of classes that are accessible to different age groups, body types and abilities. Come as you are! And find the way back to your source.

Therapeutic Yoga

Anusara Yoga is both therapeutic and adaptable and can address issues like chronic pain, surgery recovery, lack of balance, fatigue, emotional and mental trauma, physical trauma, sprains and strains, athletic recovery, and strength building.

Rachel is a Liscensed massage therapist and a Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher. She brings over 10 years of experience working therapeutically with clients both in the classroom and one on one. She enjoys making the benefits of yoga accessible to anyone with the desire to heal.

If you want to start a yoga practice but are nervous about joining a class, starting with individual instruction is the perfect way to learn variations and adaptations that will support your needs. Rachel can also help you determine if and what class is right for you.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a traditional style of holistic medicine from India. It’s foundation is the recognition of the interconnectedness of all life and the unique and sacred nature of individuals. Because this practice is holistic you will be assessed in a complete way, not just by your symptoms alone. Your physical, mental and emotional states as well as your personal history will all be considered in creating a picture of your health.

Treatment is aimed at creating balance in the body using natural substances and practices including but not limited to herbs, massage oils, essential oils, yoga practices, meditation, lifestyle changes and diet.

These sessions are a collaboration between you and Rachel to create a plan for improved health and well-being in your life on a day to day basis. Healing is a process and it takes time, so often more than one session is required to support real and permanent change in your health and state of mind.

Ayurveda is an amazing companion to other forms of medicine and these sessions can also serve as education about the deeper nature of your health and body.

Dance

After my first African Dance class my heart was awakened and in 2014 I began traveling to New York City once a month to study with amazing and masterful teachers. I was able to study with them in this way for almost 2 years. Ironically, shortly after I began traveling to New York City to learn African, Haitian and Samba Dances, I met Kathy Lucas locally and I have been studying with her since. She is a local treasure and I am honored to be a member of her DunDun Dance troupe, Moxie Kumba.

The dances that we learn and perform are primarily from West Africa:
Guinea, Ghana, Cote D’ivoire and Senegal. I would like to thank my teachers M’Bemba Bangoura, Mouminatou Camara, Yousouff Koumbassa, Richard Gonzales, Peniel Guerrier, Danielle Lima, Karamoko Camara, Marie Basse-Wiles, Lamine Thiam, Willy Loketo and Malonga Casquelord for sharing their culture and traditions with us. I feel very lucky to know these teachers and to have the privilege to dance these sacred dances.

Meditation

By learning about our health and culture we have the opportunity to shift how we live in our bodies, local community and planet. In a culture where life is busy and often stressful we strive to offer a refuge from the stimulation and intensity of the Modern Age and we are dedicated to cultivating a community of healthy living, community connection, harmony with nature, celebration and joy.

Mosaic Services

WISDOM - INTEGRITY - OPENNESS

At Mosaic we strive to showcase our communities' immense talent and wisdom in the healing arts through regular weekly classes, seasonal workshops, advanced training and continuing education. We also aim to make this wealth accessible by offering both regular and periodic donation based classes. We value integrity and are committed to Mosaic being a safe space where everyone feels welcome, regardless of their body type, ability level, orientation, politics, religious beliefs, race or even previous training. It is you, our beautiful and diverse community that makes up the Mosaic of who we become as a studio. Come as you are!

Weekly Classes

We offer weekly classes in Anusara, Kundalini, Vinyasa and Restorative yoga as well as classes in meditation, dance and creativity.

Workshops

Mosaic offers workshops in Anusara, Kundalini, Therapeutic and Restorative Yoga, as well as Ayurveda, meditation, strength training, dance, energy work, creativity and communication.

Individual Consultation

Mosaic offers personal, one-on-one consultations with Rachel Bush, founder of Mosaic, in Therapeutic Yoga and Ayurveda, as well as sessions in Reiki and Tarot with Elizabeth Seldin.
